Privacy Policy
StreetLore is a walking landmark guide by Blight Interactive ("we", "us", or "our"). This policy explains what information is used, how it is handled, and your choices. It matches the in-app Privacy screen.
What StreetLore uses on your device
- Camera preview — to overlay landmark labels in Finder. Images are not uploaded by StreetLore.
- Location — used to find nearby landmarks, project AR labels, and optionally log visits in your diary. Approximate coordinates are sent to Wikipedia/Wikidata APIs for geosearch. StreetLore does not operate its own backend.
- Device sensors (compass / orientation) — processed on-device for pointing and Guide.
- Photos you choose to capture or share — stay under your control via the Android share sheet / gallery.
- Local preferences — favorites, settings, visit diary (may include approximate coordinates), and cached map/landmark data. Stored on the device and excluded from Android Auto Backup where configured.
- Optional walk reminders — local notifications you can turn off in Settings.
Network destinations
- Wikipedia / Wikidata — landmark search, summaries, and structured facts. See Wikimedia privacy policy.
- OpenStreetMap tile servers — map imagery via osmdroid. See OSMF privacy policy.
- Google Mobile Ads / UMP — when ads are enabled.
- Google Play Billing — optional Remove ads purchase.
StreetLore does not run its own cloud backend or user accounts. Network traffic is limited to the destinations above (and ordinary Android/Play services your device already uses).
Advertising
When ads are enabled, StreetLore uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Consent for personalized ads in applicable regions is collected with Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP). Current builds may use Google test ad units until production IDs are configured. Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Purchases
Optional “Remove ads” is processed by Google Play Billing. Payment details are handled by Google, not by StreetLore.
What we do not do
- No StreetLore user accounts.
- No sale of personal information.
- No cloud upload of your diary, favorites, or snapshots by StreetLore.
Your choices
- Deny location or camera permissions (some features will be limited).
- Set a manual site latitude/longitude in Settings.
- Turn off walk reminders.
- Purchase Remove ads.
- Clear app data or uninstall to remove local diary, favorites, and cache from the device.
Children
StreetLore is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). Do not use the app to submit personal information of children.
Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes become effective means you accept the updated Policy.
